Dr Matthew Russell

Dr Matt Russell specialises in vitreo-retinal surgery and the treatment of medical retinal diseases. He has world-class retinal fellowship training at The Doheny Retina Institute, Los Angeles and the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. Prior to being recruited to The Retinal Institute in Australia, he was Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of British Columbia and practiced at Vancouver General Hospital. The Retinal Institute changed its name in May 2008 to Vision Retinal Institute and provides full coverage for surgery and diseases of the vitreous, macula and retina in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast.

He has published in international peer review journals and his research interests include retinal detachment surgery, macular surgery and age related macular degeneration.
