Dr Frank Howes
M.B., Ch.B., MMed, F.C.S., F.R.C.S., F.R.C.Ophth., F.R.A.N.Z.C.O.

Dr Howes is broadly travelled with fellowships in Glaucoma and Refractive Surgery from North America and England.

He has recently moved to Australia from England where he was the Director of Ophthalmic Services in the Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust allied to the University of Leeds and part of the teaching circuit. He guided the Unit through the cataract modernisation program producing high flow quality cataract surgery systems and reformed the department into a comprehensive service delivery and teaching unit.

Dr Howes was also a Director on the board of the Rosen Eye Surgery Centre in Manchester UK, one of the leading refractive units in the UK. He was one of the senior clinicians and lecturer in the Boots Company in the UK while they participated in the Excimer Laser refractive market.

He has lectured widely around the world in both Refractive Surgery and Glaucoma and has contributed to text books in both fields. Dr. Howes is an active reviewer for the Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and continues to be a pioneer in the fields of IOL design, astigmatic correction and selective laser trabeculoplasty.
