Dr Elizabeth Hagen
MBChB, FRANZCO
Dr Hagen spent her childhood in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast. Her family moved to New Zealand. In the early 1980's she undertook her basic medical training in Auckland, graduating in 1987. Fellowship training as a specialist through the Australian College of Ophthalmology was completed in 1995.
After a time working as an Eye Specialist on the Gold Coast, she undertook a further 12 month Advanced Fellowship in Oculoplastic Surgery at the prestigious Moorfields Eye hospital in London.
In 1996 Dr Hagen returned home to the Gold Coast, resuming practice in Coolangatta. From here she has worked full time providing comprehensive Eye Care to patients from Robina to the Tweed Valley, managing common eye conditions of glaucoma, lid tumours, and cataracts.
From the new consulting rooms opened in late 2004 at The Showcase in Coolangatta, Dr Hagen is now able to provide a more comprehensive service to patients with access to the latest technology in diagnostics for glaucoma and cataract management. She operates at Short Street Day Surgery and Murwillumbah Hospital, providing both private and public patients with access to state of the art cataract surgery.
Along with her family, Dr Hagen enjoys the outdoors, particularly hiking and camping. Her interest in vision is complemented by her enthusiasm as an award winning amateur photographer.
