Dr Alan Hilton
M.B., B.S., F.R.A.N.Z.C.O.

Dr Hilton graduated from the University of Queensland. His subsequent training in the specialty of Ophthalmology included valuable time spent at the world-leading Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne. Dr Hilton's professional development was consummated at various manor eye hospitals in the United Kingdom, including the world-famous Moorfield's Eye Hospital in London and Southampton Eye Hospital.

For 15 years from 1982 Dr Hilton was a member of the Board of examiners of the Final Fellowship examination in Ophthalmology for the Royal Australian College of Ophthalmologists. For the closing seven years of that period, Dr Hilton also sat as Chairman of the Board of Examiners. Dr Hilton has long maintained a special interest in Strabismus (squint surgery) and paediatric ophthalmology.

He has been a visiting Ophthalmologist to Brisbane's Princess Alexandra and also visiting Paediatric Ophthalmologist to the Mater Children's Hospital for 20 years. Dr Hilton sees patients at Vision Eye Institute only within his sphere of interest in paediatric ophthalmology i.e. children and adults with strabismus.
